Dalaman Gardens
Does anyone have any information on the development of Dalaman Gardens. We purchased a property there in November, although we have not visited it yet, we are going there in March/April when hopefully it will be completed. Has anyone heard of it? If so, do you know how this development is coming along?
I would be grateful of any information about the development and also about how or where to buy crockery, glasses and towels. Although the property comes furnished, little items like these are not included. Cutlery is however!

Hi Gillian,
To buy your Cutlery and other essential Kitchen items you do not need to look far as there are many shops in Dalaman Town Centre ,or you can try Ortaca Town and market on Fridays ...

Hi Gillian,
Where is Dalaman gardens? I'm afraid I haven't heard of it, but if you tell me where it is, I'll find out what I can for you.
With regard to buying your kitchen items, there is a lovely shop right next to the market where I am sure you can get all you need at very reasonable prices. It is owned by the same people who have the yasar supermarket.

Dalaman Gardens
Thank you both. As we have never been to Turkey before, we don't know quite what to expect. However, the area sounds very nice from what I have read on the Forum and it sounds like we will not be stuck for any items we will be needing.
Dalaman Gardens, is in Dalaman, sorry. However, we thought that Dalaman was very close to Sarigerme. So extremely sorry if I have posted our question in the wrong forum. Apologies to everyone.
But many thanks again.

Re: Dalaman Gardens
Hi Gillian,
We also bought without visiting first. I'm hoping to get over in June/July. I would love to know your first (and subsequent) impressions about everything and anything!

Dalaman Gardens
Sky Gypsy, no worries - Just returned from Dalaman Gardens. I would say they are still like a building site, some of the apartments are finished but I would not reccommend living there. We have been told they should be finished by the end of June, whether the road will be completed or not, I'm not sure. It was raining when we visited one day and was a bit of a mud bath there. There is no swimming pool as yet, however, we visited the site on 3 occasions and each time the apartment was a lot further on than the last. There are a lot of hard working guys there and the finished apartments look amazing. The finishings are of a very high standard. We also took a walk from Dalaman town centre to Dalaman Gardens, which took about 15 mins at a leisurely stroll. The locals are lovely, they all say hello and made us feel very very welcome. Top investment. If you are dealing with Abdullah, he is a very nice man, a gentleman as is his partner Osman ( I think that is the correct spellings).
Re: Dalaman Gardens
Gillian, many thanks for the feedback. Was it easy to get around -- did you drive at all? I'm really glad you're happy with your investment. I confess I have my doubts but hopefully they'll go away after I visit.
Re: Dalaman Gardens
Hi Again
We were driven around by Abdullah and Osman so didn't really need a car. The bus service looks very good and reliable. Taxis were very expensive. We travelled to Ortaca (5 mins away) for a meal in the Torprakana Restaurant (which I highly recommend) by taxi and it cost YTL 25 (£10) and the same on the way back. It was a metered, yellow cab. Maybe there are other taxis that we weren't aware of.
We also dined at the Botanik Restaurant, however, if you call them beforehand they will come and collect you and take you home again. Again, I would highly recommend dining there.
We went to Gocek for a day, which I think you can get a bus to. I don't think its worth hiring a car to get to as it was only around 15-20 mins away (also a small YTL 3 toll charge each way). I personally won't be hiring a car when we return. These are just my personal opinions, as it was our first time there, I'm sure there are other people who have more experience than I do. But I hope this has helped you some.
