Wedding at The Village in Sarigerme
Hello
Has anyone got any information about getting married at the Village with first choice, my brother has booked to do this but it is adding up all the time & costing him a packet, he also needs to go to Antalya or Izmir - to see the british consulate & the mayor.
Surely this cannot be right.
I would appreciate any information please as the cost this is going to be is ridiculous!
Many thanks
Michelle

Hi Shellparkes22
We went to the Tropical side of the hotel ( all the same place )in september 2006 , and we did enquire about weddings. If I remember correctly it was going to cost an extra £700 - 900 on top of the holliday. Because of this cost we did not get hitched , in-fact we are still not married LOL.
When we stayed we seen two weddings taking place. They have a really nice wedding gazebo that sits in the grounds between both hotels.
Dont be surprised to have a few of the other guests taking a few pictures ( not in your face though). One couple even got a standing-ovation from about 60 - 90 other guests as they walked past the Tropical pool bar just after their marriage ( really nice to see.).
As for going to see the consulate and the mayor, I think this is true. Maybee 1 or 2 days before the BIG DAY the lucky couple will have to do this , If they are paying first choice to help with this they might want to ask how much this adds to the cost, and then check with one of the local tour guides in the village who can also give advice and sort out transport to any of the other towns you may have to go to( Sarigerme Tours should be able to help and will be cheaper than first choice ) Just try and use the hotel for the big day only.
If ..... sorry! When!..... we get married, we will try and do it this way as the locals know much more than the holliday company and are cheaper.
Hope this helps a little

We got married in Side, Turkey in 2005. Trip to consulate and blood tests were needed to make the marriage legal. We were at the Paloma Perrissia with Thomas Cook. It was fantastic, everything was taken care of from flowers to photographer and video. It cost us roughly 5/600 pounds extra. Paperwork needs to be sorted out over here but your tour operator should help with that.
