Hi Greg, you can't buy English cigarettes in the shops here , only at the airport, where depending on brand they are up to fifteen quid a carton. (lots cheaper than england)The airlines often do a special offer so look out for that. The english airports often do a special on 400 packs also, but you need two people for that. You're only supposed to take in 200 per person, but most people put some in their suitcase.
Hope this helps

Doglover , are you sure you can Not buy English Brand Cigarrets from the Village Shops in Sarigerme ?
Because my brother in Law does smokes and he did purchased some last year from the Shops and he smokes only Legal (I think) , however I am sure that they do not sell tabacco such as Golden Virginia ...
again,I am non smoker ,so this info is not reliable Smile)

must go back to my Votka (wife is calling too)

Hi Boris, Glad you're enjoying that vodka! Have one for me too! Laughing Yes, there are the odd couple of shops that do sell english cigarettes, but they are certainly not cheap! I used to smoke Superkings in the uk and I have changed to Bond now. They cost 27.5 lira a pkt for the longer length and I think they are just like superkings. As for tobacco, you may find the odd shop that has Golden Virginia, but again it is very expensive! Other than that, you can only get the local grown tobacco, which is rather "unrefined" I know cos my husband smokes Golden Virginia.

When in Sarigerme I did buy 1 carton from the shop next too , and just back from the sarigerme bar , I did buy 200 L+B for £15 , these where FAKE ,(THEY SMELL OF PERFUME AND FELL APPART..!!!! .) They must have seen me comming!!!!. I left this carton at the hotel when we left .
The addvice that I have had, is to buy on the plane or at the airport (you can buy from duty free when you arrive in Turkey airport and when you leave.). It will cost less on the plane and at the airport .... and they are not fake.

Hope this helps

Cigarettes

Post by Gillian on Tue Apr 29, 2008 9:42 pm

We bought 400 Berkeley Menthol duty free at Glasgow Airport for (I think) £22 per pack. We also bought 400 on the airplane for about £15 per pack. There was no sign of british cigarettes anywhere in Dalaman except at the airport where they were around £15 per pack. The duty free at the airport is ok (I suggest you take Euros as the prices are in Euros). But don't buy a coffee or tea or anything from the cafes at the airport!!!! Cigarettes are cheaper!
