Can I ask a few questions

Post by Kerry Liston on Sun Mar 09, 2008 2:01 pm

We are coming to the holiday village on 22 May this year for 2 weeks with our 2 children. Could someone answer some questions for me?
On the reviews there seems to be a lot of comments about ear infections - are these really as bad and common as they sound? My kids will probably spend most of their time in the pools.
Also what are the sunbeds like, is there a early morning brigade reserving sunbeds then not use them all day? Also they look like plastic slated one, do they come with pads? Without the pads I find them extremely uncomfortable.
I have been looking at the company for the excursions in the local village (the one that is recommended on the website) - they look really cheap and sound good. What are they like and do they pick up from the hotel or do you have to get to the office.
Lastly what is the weather generally like at that time of year and does it get chilly in the evenings?
THANK YOU Very Happy

Hi Kerry and everyone!

We are coming to Turkey for the first time on the 22nd May, so hopefully see you around! I'am bringing along my husband and 3 children.
Its a shame but we've read some negative comments about the hoilday village, so not to sure what to expect.
Looking forward to two lovely weeks anyway.

Hi everyone

I'm coming to the Holiday Village on 2nd June. I'll be with my 2 daughters (22 & 9) !!

Hoping my 9 year old can make a few friends at the kids club so she's got someone to play with. Doubt if she'll want to be with us all the time.

Will anyone else be there the first week in June ?

Hi,

We going on the 22nd of May (flying from Cardiff) to the HV Sarigerme. 2 adults + 2 kids (13 and 6)

I've read some of the reviews and was a bit apprehensive, but other reports make it sound fantastic. I'm sure it'll be great. 2 weeks away from work and a bit of sunshine - what more could you need! (oh! I forgot, some Gin & tonic Laughing )

We're going on 22 May as well, don't fly until the evening though. We will be the one with the 2 noisy kids!! 2 girls age 7 and 10 they will be looking for friends and WILL be going to the kids clubs so me and hubby can have some peace and quiet. A little bit worried about what its going to be like though (just read someones comments on this forum).

See you there!

Hi Kerry,

My daughter's 6 (going on 40 Laughing ) and son is 13. They will be doing the kids club too. Lauren is keen on having some swimming lessons and Callum wants to go to the soccer academy. (I think you pay for these when you get there).

I'm thinking of doing some trips with sarigerme tours (not First Choice), mud baths, turkish baths and one of the markets trip. Although my friend went last year to the Turkish bath and massage at the hotel and said it was fantastic. More expensive (she can't remember the exact price) but very convenient.

I'm trying to stop reading reviews. I think I'm suffering from OCD! I've got to log on to this site and trip advisor every time I pass a PC!

Not long to go now - 5 more sleeps, I'd better start packing or we wont get there.

I know what you mean! I'm always on my pc and this sight. I have decided to avoid the review sites now, anyway I think some people go on holiday to moan, mother in law just come back from a 5* which was perfect but there were still people moaning about things!

Hi Kerry,

That's crazy. If you've got a problem, I would agree, try to get it sorted, but whatever happens, it's not going to ruin the holiday.

Are you there for a fortnight? I booked a jacuzzi suite and they are supposed to be near the smaller pools. We'll be taking our Welsh flag towel, so if you spot us you can say hello. (or alternatively, run away!!)

Regards,

Hi Kerry and everyone.

We are flying out on the 22nd on the 5.30pm flight, from gatwick. Weve got a kids den also, we are easy to spot, 2 stressed out parents and 3 loud children! I agree with you, its time to stop reading the reviews and just enjoy our hoildays. I'am still confused by the whole two hotels in one thing but i'am sure it will be ok.

c u there

What side is that as I thought there was a palace & tropical. Does it really matter which side you are?

From what I can gather the pegasus palace side (which is original hol village) and the Tropical palace (which was Iberostar Tropical palace) each have their own buffet restaurants, so to avoid overcrowding you will have to eat in buffet restaurant on side you are allocated. Apart from that you can use any of the facilities.

Only 8 more sleeps to go!!
