hiya

i came back from holiday village on tuesday.

The place itself is lovely but were a few nigglythings that bugged us.

The beer is defo watered down (as confirmed by one of the bar staff)
The measures of spirits are really pathetic unless you ask for large one, the they will top it up.
ice creams are only available 1 till 2 in the afternoon, where the queue is massive and by the time they reach you at the baCK the amount of ice cream gets reduced.
The amphitheatre is layed out like a theatre so you all sit in rows not at tables so not much chance to socialise.
the food was lovely although they didn t keep things topped up so u had to stand around waiting for ages whilst your other food went cold.
few things at kids clubs were payable too (sweetie bingo 3.50, choc party 3.50 etc)
holiday village is really remote and nearest village was a 25 min walk
entertainment at night was really limited and boring.

As u probably agree these are just picky things but other than these it was a lovely place, very clean and ppl really friendly.

if you need know anything else drop me a reply.

I dont want to dishearten you as it really is a nice place, food lovely, daytime games brilliant especially with Jen and Dan x

hope this helps a little

Em x

ps dont book trips through first choice, book through sarigerme tours (adnan was lovely, proper cheeky chappy!) half the price and much more personal.

I am due to go to the holiday village on the 24th July for two weeks with my husband and our two sons. I read on one review on tripadvisor today that you can only eat on the side of the hotel you are staying in, although you can drink anywhere with the two hotels. The holiday village was orginally two hotels and now joined as into one making the Holiday Village, however I have not read anywhere that you can only eat on the one side of the hotel! Does anyone know anymore about this?

Hi greg, not long now eh? have you not done all inc before?, generally you can have what you want, i've never been dissapointed, normally ice cream is limited to times as are candy floss/ popcorn, as for the beer its normally good in turkey it's turborg or efes, i've never had any probs with any of the alcohol it is totally unlimited providing its not imported. The mini bar in the room might be only a fridge with water and pop ( no beer ) this has happened to us before!. other than that i can't wait and hope its going to be what i'm hoping for!

hiya greg

Yes there was diet pepsi and just your popular spirits available (brandy, gin, vodka, whisky etc) Baileys wasn t. The mini bar had 3 bottles of water in at the beginning of the holiday which were free any extras had to be paid for. Drinks not free after midnight either.

As the restaurants were very busy you had to eat on your deisignated side.

Mozzies were a problem and they still are (they still itching 4 days after been home) you can buy something called sin kov which worked very well as wasn t bit after using this (although think id fed them for a year anyhow as legs covered in them)

snacks were really good as there was chips, salad, nuggets, burgers, toasties available all day. There was also a man making pizza whaich was lashing !!

Thank you for the useful information

Bit worried now though, but as the holiday is ALWAYS left down to me I always get a bit aprehensive.

What was the sunbed situation like? Is it up at dawn to have any chance of a bed?

Seems a strange set up for the evening entertainment, can you easily get out (to get your drinks etc)? What are the chairs like (I presume its not concrete benches like the amplitheatres from roman times!!!)

Thank you

plenty of sunbeds, concrete seating in amphitheatres, we took a travel kettle and teabags and coffee to have hot drinks in our room, got fresh milk every day from the bars and restaurants. you can eat in any of the snack bars but only your own designated restaurant in the evening, but they both have the same food anyway so it doesn't matter.

forgot to add, the snacks are available 11-4 everyday, you can easily get from the amphitheatres to the nearby snack/poolbar.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING IN THE HOTEL SHOPS, THEY CHARGE DOUBLE THE PRICES, it is only a pleasant 20 minute walk into the village, or 1 lira each on the dolmus.
