Heart attack and Turkish bath

Post  marieke bekker on Wed Mar 25, 2009 12:14 pm

Hi,
Please advise me:
In November I had an acute heart attack, the doctors placed one stent and told me to go on living. My bloodpressure is 120/80 and my pulse is around 80, my age is 68. In May we are going to Dalyan again and I would love to have a Turkish bath in Ortaca, what do you advise me? Should I go?

Did you ask your Doctor Question Question

If you do decide to go , I suggest you come out of the steam room asap when you feel a bit too hot !!
Go in with a person who knows you well , communicate constantly with this person during the Bath how you are feeling,
If you decide to go , then go please after sunset , this may help you to cool down faster when you come out of the Turkish Bath ...Surely we don't want in Holland Press a Head LIne " Heart Attack in Turkish Bath" Very Happy
Also , if you could let OMER "name of the owner" know your conditions , he would be dealing with you ...
Again , you would be doing the correct thing by consulting your Doctor ...

Heart attack and Turkish Bath

Post  marieke bekker on Fri May 29, 2009 11:22 am

Merhaba Nayir and other members,

Thanks to your advice I did go to the Hamam in Ortaca Laughing and it was wonderfull. Special thanks to the ladymanager who stopped or lowered the temperature while I was there.

I read your comment about the Ortaca Hamam, but I don't totally agree (or I don't agree totally). My husband and I were massaged in a seperate room with 4 massage-beds. I realize that we were the one ones at that present moment and I cannnot speak about the treatments in high season.
I will always love Turkey and its inhabitants:sunny:.

Helloooo Marieke Bekker,

according to the statistics thousands of people do visit this website and everyone do gain information but very few do put back and share their exprience with others ...

A big big thank you for your comments and your views on this subject .. I wrote this warning because member Rabbitt has received a PM from one of the female member of this forum and was talking about unpleasent behaviour ,this is why i felt i had to go and visit the Hamam in Ortaca and find out what was going on .. Things like that can happen everywhere but not neccasarly this happens everytime and everywhere ..it is good to be aware ..

I am very much pleased that you have visited ortaca hamam and shared your exprience with us here ..

Merhaba,

I am new to the forum and absorbing plenty useful information.
When we are in Dalaman we make sure we spend at least one day a week in Sarigerme. A quaint magical place!!!

Can you please tell me where the Hamam is in Dalaman?
Counting down till out next visit.

Hi Alba ,

we have been there 2 weeks ago , cant tell you the address but it is on a side road off the main road of Dalaman.
If you wish to do this diy way and living in dalaman, I am sure if you ask the Locals where the HAMAM is they will point it out for you
